These services, often referred to as personal care or companion care, focus on assistance with daily living activities (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs) to help individuals remain independent at home.
Non-Medical Home Care Services
Personal Care (ADLs):
Bathing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
Dressing and undressing.
Assistance with eating and meal preparation.
Mobility assistance (e.g., getting in/out of bed or a chair, walking).
Homemaker & Companion Services (IADLs):
Light housekeeping and laundry.
Grocery shopping and running errands.
Meal planning and preparation.
Companionship, social interaction, and engaging in hobbies to reduce isolation.
Medication reminders (but not administration).
Each caregiver is:
given extensive training per IDOA, Joint Commission, and IDPH
has a thorough background check
